Marcus Morrison’s career suffers another blow following third loss in five bouts

The 25 year-old suffered a shock third loss in five bouts against journeyman Alistair Warren on Friday night, dropping to 16-3 in the process.

Morrision’s defeat, which came on points after referee Steve Gray scored the eight-rounder 77-75 to Warren, adds to previous reverses against Jason Welborn and Tyan Booth.

The Mancunian was once ranked highly by the WBC on the back of claiming their International Silver strap, but will now have to come again after losing the Middleton Arena contest.

Trained by Joe Gallagher, Morrison will have to assess where his next move lies and may seek out a rematch to put the record straight.
