Linked by telephone with the WBC super bantamweight champion, Rey Vargas spoke of his successful but hard-fought defense against rugged Armenian Azat Hovannisyan, at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York.

"It was a very uncomfortable fight. Azat was a difficult opponent not only for his height but due to his style. However, my job was to win and make the fight look easy, even if it was something else in the ring.

" I think Azat resisted a lot of punishment, more than necessary and although there were setbacks we got the victory."

On a possible change of division, Rey did not deny the possibility, he even sees it as a necessary move. But made it clear that he would still like to defend the crown a few more times before thinking about the next championship.

A fight against Leo Santa Cruz would then entice him.

WBC female super lightweight champion, Argentine Erica "Pantera" Farias (25-2-0, 10 KO'S), will defend her world crown this Saturday Evening at Club Unión de Goya, Corrientes, Argentina.

This time her opponent will be the dangerous fighter Yamila Reynoso (10-3-3, 7 KO'S).

The card will be broadcast live for all of Argentina and part of Latin America by TyC Sport.

Farias comes from defending his crown last December, defeating her compatriot Ana Laura Esteche.

While Reynoso comes from defeating Tamara Marianella Nunez in February.
