Undefeated puncher Daigo Higa is no longer the WBC flyweight champion after failing to make weight for his imminent clash in Yokohama, Japan.

The 15-0 star looks set for a move up to super-flyweight after scaling 114 pounds for his battle with Cristofer Rosales.

Nicaraguan Rosales, who hit the 111.5 pound mark, can still claim the belt if successful against Higa, although the title will be vacant should the pre-fight favourite Higa take the spoils.

Higa v Rosales forms part of a double-header of action with middleweight title holder Ryota Murata defending his belt against Emanuele Blandamura.

Both made the 160 pound limit successfully in a contest which the winner would move closer to fight with WBA 'super' champion Gennady Golovkin.
