Nine potential opponents for Anthony Joshua: Who’s favourite to fight the champ next?

The leading online bookmaker has Deontay Wilder at 5/1 to be the next in the queue for Joshua, with up and coming New York puncher Miller or a rematch with old foe Whyte more likely at 2/1.

Alexander Povetkin’s brutal KO victory over David Price caught the eye on Joshua’s undercard on Saturday and the Russian, who is also the mandatory challenger for AJ’s WBA belt, is 10/1 to be Joshua’s next fight.

A blockbuster British showdown with Tyson Fury still looks some way off and can be backed at 25/1.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Anthony Joshua is boxing’s top billing at the moment and the only things that seem to be stopping him from taking on Deontay Wilder next are favourable terms and the trip across the Atlantic.

“Wilder can be backed at 5/1 to be Joshua’s next opponent but we fancy AJ may stay in the UK and draw another big crowd by arranging a rematch with Dillian Whyte at 2/1.

“If Joshua is to cross the pond then we think he’ll look to find his feet against Jarrell Miller first at 2/1. Miller talks the talk and, like Joshua, is unbeaten in over 20 fights so looks a good match-up.”
