Wilder accuses Hearn of diversion tactics, using Whyte to distract fight talk away from Joshua

It’s no secret Wilder wants to fight Anthony Joshua next as the American prepares for commentary duties in Cardiff this weekend, should ‘AJ’ come through Joseph Parker unscathed.

As Whyte is the current number one contender and WBC Silver title holder, Hearn has urged World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman to order Wilder to defend against ‘The Bodysnatcher’ next, although ‘The Bronze Bomber’ remains focused on sealing Joshua instead.

In his Instagram and Twitter post, Wilder illustrates his point, with the undefeated green and gold belt holder only interested in an undisputed battle with Joshua for all the championships.

Despite Whyte’s victory, Dominic Breazeale could be next in line for what the WBC could make a final eliminator for Wilder.

Either way, Wilder is free to negotiate with Joshua whatever the WBC decide as Sulaiman has made it plain that a unification between their champion and Joshua overrides any mandatory offering stipulated in the future.

Like the fans, Sulaiman wants to see Joshua face Wilder, meaning any attempts by Whyte to force the fight may not be greeted kindly by the 40-0 puncher.

Wilder has already agreed initial terms without opening negotiations as the Tuscaloosa man is willing to accept Hearn and Joshua’s terms in return for the same deal in a rematch.

All that remains is for Joshua to come out victorious against Parker this weekend and then the serious business can begin in earnest.
