Abdusalamov v Perez: Unbeaten heavyweight clash confirmed for November 2

Sampson Lewkowicz, promoter of knockout artist Abdusalamov told World Boxing News today that the fight is well and truly on and that the hard-hitting pair will contest the WBC USNBC heavyweight title.

Abdusalamov, 32, has an awesome-looking 18-0 record to his name and has knocked out all 18 opponents, with 11 of those victories coming in the first round alone. None of the southpaw’s previous bouts have managed to make it past the fifth session as ‘Mago’ powers his way towards the higher echelons of the division.

27 year Perez on the other hand, has an equally impressive C.V, which makes this fight all the more intriguing as the former Prizefighter UK champion will enter the ring defending his 19-0, 12 knockout resume.

Now based in Ireland, the Cuban puncher is stepping up from the journeyman phase of his career after beating the likes of Zack Page, Tye Fields and Travis Walker and we should be able to gauge from the clash which of these two heavyweight prospects have the potential to challenge a Klitschko in the future.

Either way, someone’s ‘0’ will go in at The Garden Theater.
