Pacquiao: I’ll leave no trace of doubt in third Marquez fight

The 32 year-old is scheduled to make the third defence of his title against the Mexican and has vowed that the fight will be far from close like the previous two meetings.

“I am excited that I have to fight and prepare for the third fight with Marquez to prove again that I won the last two fights,” Pacquiao told abs-cbnnews.com.

The first meeting between the pair in 2004 finished a controversial draw at the same venue with both fighters gaining 115-110 victories with one judge and a third scoring it 113-113 even.

In the second fight at the Mandalay Bay in 2008, Pacquiao set out to make is more convincing but once again became embroiled in Marquez’s kind of fight, eventually winning a tight split decision.

The ‘Pacman’ believes he now has a point to prove after his stature as the world’s best fighter has grown and grown over the three year period between the last fight and Marquez at 37, may find it far more difficult to hit the Filipino fighter than he did before.

“In the fight, I will make the result clear and leave no trace of doubt in the result,” added Pacquiao.
